Babak Bakhit
Senior researcher

Technical University of Denmark (DTU), Denmark

Dr. Babak Bakhit is a Senior Researcher at DTU, working at the intersection of advanced materials, electronic devices, and neuromorphic technologies. His research focuses on developing functional materials and hardware platforms for energy-efficient, robust, brain-inspired computing systems, with particular expertise in thin films growth, ionic memristors, ferroelectric oxides, and ferro-ionic materials. Babak has an international research background spanning DTU, the University of Cambridge, and Linköping University. His work has contributed to advances in memristive devices and neuromorphic computing platforms that emulate key features of biological neural systems, enabling adaptive and low-power information processing. Within BNBNet, he serves as Network Co-Director and leads DTU's contributions to the development of the next generation of materials and devices for brain-integrated technologies, supporting future applications in neuromorphic computing, neuroelectronic, and healthcare. His long-term vision is to bridge materials science, electronics, and neuroscience to create intelligent technologies that advance both computing capabilities and human health.
